Testing Assistant (Cannabis)

Summary TGS Management, a successful and rapidly growing start-up company serving the cannabis industry, is looking for a proficient Testing Assistant to join its team. The Testing Assistant is primarily responsible for submitting product samples to certified laboratories, performing daily testing data entry and maintaining compliance records. The Testing Assistant role assists the company in producing compliant and consumer-safe products by ensuring that all outgoing test samples adhere to MED required testing. The Testing Assistant must adhere to regulatory rules, corporate standard operating procedures, and testing department work flow. Work duties may include, but are not limited to, test sample tracking, generating test data reports, data entry, compliance checks, as well as delivery of samples as needed. This is a position with room for advancement for the fast-learning team player who loves a challenge and wants to roll up his or her sleeves and dive right in. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Track all outgoing and incoming test data for all products
  • Enter data into Metrc, an ERP system (inventory control system), and excel spreadsheets
  • Prepare twice daily summary reports and communicate via email to predetermined team members
  • Ensure all outgoing test samples are ready for lab pick-up prior to 10am
  • Assist with outgoing test samples to ensure lab results are returned in a timely manner
  • Ensure all outgoing test sample’s turnaround times are correct per test samples
  • Ensure inventory job cards are error free for ERP consumption
  • Assist with incoming test results to ensure results are entered into the inventory tracking system and excel spreadsheets
  • Coordinate with laboratories for sample pickups, test sample turn around needs, and problem solving as needed
  • Assist with weekend test sample drop offs as needed
  • Perform office organization and record maintenance duties as needed
  • Assist with filing compliance documents for the MIP (manufacturing facility)
  • All other tasks and job duties as assigned

Qualifications Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management
  • Excellent computer, mathematics, language, and reasoning skills

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel and NAV preferred
  • At least one year of experience with the METRC seed-to-sale tracking system Extremely detailed oriented
  • Ability to work with other divisions to ensure all compliance is adhered to
  • Ability to communicate with business etiquette, with all levels of co-workers
  • Able to execute large data entry, with minimal errors
  • Experience data mining and creating reports
  • Excellent computer, mathematical, language, and reasoning skills
  • Excellent influential, collaborative, and relationship building skills
  • High level attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with shifting workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with current versions

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office environment with moderate to loud noise level
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule if requested to work overtime, as business demand requires
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to acquire MED Support badge ($75 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment Travel Requirements
  • Occasionally requires local travel, as needed.
